The Yankees have signed this year’s first round pick Cito Culver for slot money, approximately $940,000, according to Buster Olney.
This was an important signing since he was a high school kid and had an offer from University of Maryland to play baseball there. Clearly, he liked the Yankees so much and wanted to get paid a few years in advance!
Interestingly enough, the Yankees drafted another shortstop out of high school who loved the Yankees recently. That man would be Derek Jeter.
