As expected, Curtis Granderson was placed on the 15-day DL with a “Grade 2 strain of the left groin.” Reliever Mark Melancon will take his spot on the roster to help the bullpen out.
Josh Thomson tweets there is no timetable for Granderson’s return. Check back later for updates.
UPDATE: According to Will Carroll (@injuryexpert), Granderson will miss 2-4 weeks instead of 4-6 because he has good conditioning. In today’s press conference, Joe Girardi said Granderson will “probably miss a month.”
