So far this spring, the Yankees have beaten the Pirates on a walk-off homer and lost to the Phillies by a run in a pitchers’ duel. Today, the Yankees host the Rays.
Most important thing to watch for in this game is definitely comparing Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain in their first appearances of the spring. Hughes will get the start (1:05 p.m. on YES), and Chamberlain will relieve him (probably after two innings).
And you won’t have reason to turn the channel when the Yankees are batting. The Rays are sending out David Price. Here’s the lineup he’ll face (via LoHud):
Jeter SS
Granderson CF
Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Posada DH
Thames LF
Cano 2B
Swisher, RF
Cervelli C
And the expected backups: C Jesus Montero, 1B Juan Miranda, 2B Reegie Corona, SS Eduardo Nunez, 3B Kevin Russo, LF Reid Gorecki, CF Greg Golson, RF Jon Weber, DH Jorge Vazquez.
Ed. note: I’m pretty sure I’ll get to watch this game in full! Finally.
