The Yankees three-hitter Mark Teixeira went 0-for-4 in Game 1 and left five men on base. Luckily, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Hideki Matsui picked up the slack this time, but Teixeira should be the lead cog in this strong lineup.
Well, the odds are in his favor to do that tonight against Twins starter Nick Blackburn. Tex is 6-for-6 against Blackburn in his career with a homer, a double, 5 RBI and a walk.
Also, this is only the second time Tex has played in the postseason. Last year he went 7-for-15 with the Angels. Even if Tex goes 0-for-5 tonight, he still brings positive tools to the team, like at first base and making the pitcher work.
Also, with a confident A-Rod swinging the bat behind him, Tex should be seeing some fat pitches that look like beachballs soon.
